The solid New Balance 860 v7 updates the reliable saga with pronation control, plenty of cushioning and affordable price but unfortunately less attention than premium 1260 v6. As well as its counterpart for neutral runners 880 v6, the 860 v7 provides great value for money.
Upper gets typical annual upgrade from its predecessor 860 v6 with a more open dual layer mesh in the forefoot (in a similar way of popular FlyKnit from Nike or PrimeKnit from Adidas) for improved breathability. Many reflective elements (including big "N" logo) have been added to midfoot structure which provides not only good consistency for secure fit but also more visibility under poor light conditions.
Midsole structure is based on what is already working well with full-length ACTEVA® LITE layer on top of durable ABZORB® foam plus medial post for pronation control, what has been named as TRUFUSE. Drop sticks to 10 mm for smooth transition while T-BEAM shank delivers torsional stability through the midfoot. Outsole keeps a simple configuration with different size lugs depending on the area with harder Ndurance® rubber in more exposed zones.
