Description

Really interesting New Balance FuelCell Impulse hits the market as a speedy performance running shoes, located somewhere between successful Fresh Foam Zante v4 and racing flat 1400 v6. After validating its well known Fresh Foam for more cushioned running shoes, american brand is testing its new foam FuelCell for its racing lineup in order to improve good old (but reliable) friend REVLite.

There is no old version for brand new FuelCell Impulse but is hard to understand 3 top performance running shoes (mentioned Fresh Foam Zante v4, popular 890 v6 and current FuelCell Impulse) for same brand targeting slightly same kind of runners. Upper is based on bootie construction and reminds powerful Fresh Foam Hierro v3 although breathable "Jacquard" knit does not feature any kind of reinforcements and adapts better. Another detail is classical logo "N" from New Balance has been replaced for complete "NB" with custom decoration to mimick fast movement so runners can identify the FuelCell Impulse as a legit member of the racing lineup.

Most interesting feature in FuelCell Impulse is the superb 6 mm drop midsole based on reliable REVLite combined with nitrogen-infused FuelCell foam in the forefoot for quicker response at lower height without sacrificing comfort nor durability. Outsole configuration is also a disrupting one among New Balance running shoes with big apertures in forefoot that enable some expansion for enhanced adaptation to ground and "Launch Angle" lugs to promote quicker transition. As usual, more robust rubber is used in more exposed areas to last longer.
