The Saucony Fastwitch 8 is basically an update with minor changes in the upper. It is a lightweight racing shoe with moderate overpronation support and just 4 mm drop for natural ride and great response. It is quite popular for long distance (marathon) racing and also an interesting option for triathlon thanks to sock-like fit and water drainage ports in midsole to keep feet dry.
New engineered air mesh for improved ventilation and softer feel is the most noticeable change from its predecessor Fastwitch 7. Upper features FLEXFILM melded overlays for snug fit with reduced weight.
Rest of Fastwitch 8 keeps double density foam in midsole for progressive mild pronation support SSL (Saucony Super Light) EVA cushioning to promote responsive ride. Outsole does not change either with same configuration and high performance PWRTRAC™ rubber used in off-road models like Peregrine 7 for outstanding traction. To confirm racing mindset, outsoles include motivation mottos like "be fast" and "not last".
