Description

In the end it had to happen and the Saucony Ride 13 certifies the definitive goodbye to the ISOFIT system within the catalog of shoes of the American brand. The Ride 13 remains as Saucony's "classic" running shoe option, a versatile, well-cushioned, 8 mm of drop. It is said "classic" as opposed to other less "conventional" bets by Saucony like the reborn Kinvara 11 or the Freedom 3 shoe, both of which focus on a so-called "natural" style, both with only 4 mm of drop. Luxury is all about choice.

It is clear that the most notable change from its predecessor Ride ISO 2 has an upper very similar to the one of its bigger sibling, the premium Triumph 18, with a double-layer mesh with heat-sealed elements that are what ensure a good fit. Also striking is the scarcity of ventilation holes in the central part which makes you think that breathability is not one of its strong points.

The midsole of the Ride 13 is made of PWRRUN just like other shoes from the brand like its counterpart for pronators Guide 13 instead of the combination of EVERUNβ„’ over PWRFOAMβ„’ baseline from the previous edition. More comfort, less weight, better response... in short, the usual marketing speech. The sole design presents minimal variations, but the "Crystal Rubber" material in the forefoot is dispensed with in favor of the familiar and less ostentatious XT-900. The TRI-FLEX lug configuration is maintained, offering a good balance between grip and speed in the transition.
